Goals Our goal is to give the children, as much as possible, some basis they can keep for the rest of their lives. We want to provide them with following points in life: Self-confidenceEvery child that lives on the street is mentally and physically affected by it. Due to their past and experience on the street, self-confidence is much unknown to them. At ELIM, the children get the opportunity to discover and develop their talents. We stimulate them and give them one-to-one attention to help their self-confidence grow. As well, we teach the children that they are unique, equal and important in their own ways. RespectRespect is very important in ELIM. We teach the children respect for others, environment and the law. In the end, this will lead them to honesty, loyalty and open-heartedness in life. Christian visionWe want to enrich the lives of the children with the Christian vision. The words of the Bible gives them a stronger position to make the right decisions. It teaches them that they are never alone with the love of God and that there is a solution to every problem. Education We, at ELIM, find it very important that every child gets a proper education, we make it our priority. Besides we encourage the children that have finished high school to follow their ambition and to carry on with their studies. Health We really want the children to be in good health. Many street children coming to ELIM have many health problems like malnutrition and skin problems. The Health Care comes, on a yearly basis, to carry out a checkup. However this isn’t enough to maintain their health. This is why we try to have contacts with medical specialists on a voluntary basis and mostly from other countries.
